FAQs

How long will the shine last?

It all depends how the wheels are cared for. If the wheels are stored inside with covers on they will only need a quick wipe with a microfiber towel before cruising to the show and will remain shiny for years to come. If stored outside with covers on they should stay shiny for 3-6 months if cleaned regularly. If stored outside without covers they will need a re-polish in 1-2 months or less.

My truck sits outside, how do I keep the wheels shiny?

What I’ve found to work best are RV tire and wheel covers. They will keep rain off the wheels and prevent dogs from marking their territory. Keeping your wheels free of moisture will drastically prolong the lifespan of the shine.

Tire covers for most 12-14 wide wheels on up to 33'‘ tire here.

Tire covers for 14-20 wide wheels 35-38” here.

Should I ceramic coat my wheels?

I don’t recommend this. Aluminum is porous and will not prevent oxidization under the coating. Coated wheels can’t be touched up unless the coating is chemically removed or sanded off. Additionally, most metal polishing compounds have built in hydrophobic properties and will repel water similar to a coating.

What is your lead time?

Typical lead times for polishing range from 4-8 weeks depending on time of year.

What’s the best way to ship wheels?

I like to use Lowe’s HEAVY DUTY Medium boxes (18x18x16) to ship all 15-16.5'‘ wheels 14” wide and narrower. Larger diameter wheels I recommend asking your local 4x4 accessory shop if they have leftover wheel boxes. Use pirateship.com for discounted UPS and USPS labels.
